• Provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment and crisis intervention services for adult and/or children who present to Heritage Oaks Hospital as a walk in • Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluations clinical treatment programs for diagnosis treatment, and/or referral for health plan members with acute of chronic mental illness • Evaluates behavioral health emergencies in order to provide appropriate referrals

• Provides individual and group counseling, therapy, and referral services to psychologically disturbed or substance abusing clients and provides consultation, information, and education to community groups, schools, and agencies. • Interviews clients to determine and assess client's social, psychological, legal, and personal history for purposes of formulating a clinical diagnosis. • Writes or dictates clinical chart notes for each patient contact. Assesses client's progress on a continuing basis and makes modifications to treatment plan in order to meet client's goals. • Assesses presenting problem and social histories to establish a diagnosis. • Observes and evaluates client's progress in order to evaluate treatment plan and monitors effects of medications in order to make referral to staff Psychiatrist for further monitoring. • Evaluates behavioral health emergencies in order to provide appropriate referrals. • Evaluates for 72-hour involuntary hospitalization for clients in crisis. • Consults with other professional staff to provide feedback on difficult cases. • Participates in seminars and provides review, feedback, and guidance on treatment alternatives. • Researches, prepares, and delivers presentations to community groups and agencies about various aspects of behavioral health related problems.

• Conduct risk assessments for those who present to the emergency department in crisis • Perform specialized tasks including involuntary hospitalizations procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments. • Assist consumers and their families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment. • Develop service plans with consumers; evaluate psychological, economic, vocational, educational, physical, healthy, socialization and housing needs. • Interview consumers, relatives and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing mental or emotional disorders. • Establish and maintain effective contact with local area mental health resources, including community members, parents, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies/organizations.
