Conducted preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications on all systems of 130 movie screens including high grossing sites in California and Phoenix. Projectors systems included Barco Series 1 and 2 Xenon projector, Barco Phosphorus and RGB projectors, Christie Series 2 projectors, GDC servers, AP20 automations/sound processors, Master Image 3D systems. Sound systems included Dolby, AP20s. Several different Automations were also maintained.
Maintenance included cleaning, calibration, alignment of all projectors, servers, sound systems, automations, and TMS satellite computers. These tasks included simple dusting as well as disassembly of components to check proper connections throughout the systems. Tools ranged from multi-meters to hand/power tools.
Monthly checks of sound systems alignment included speaker checks, balancing, amplifier calibration, as well as any software settings within peripheral devices.
Detailed troubleshooting performed on all devices not working properly. Worked with vendors on occasion to further troubleshoot. Trouble shooting included board swaps, software manipulations.
Upgrades including hardware and software to equipment as it became available.
Addresses theatre level concerns in the form of trouble tickets.
When needed simple forms of carpentry, electrical terminations and relocations are used. Small soldering connections and other micro forms of customizations.
Installation of all systems mentioned above. This included all of the mechanical alignments and software setup. Terminations of all single, dual, and three-phase electrical systems. Rack building that included installation and termination of automation, networked devices, sound processors, patch panels, routers, amplifiers, and then dressing of all cabling.
On call for all of my assigned sites, including emergency and routine. Worked with staff both remotely and on-site to repair equipment in emergency situations. Remote applications used over VPN to edit and repair problems under certain circumstances.
Made 650-mile round trips to California every month to ensure that their systems were working with the same high standards as the sites in my home state.
