Years of intro clinical experience
I'm a Sewanee student majoring in Neuroscience with a 3.7 Major GPA. I'm also in the pre-health concentration here and have been exposed to many clinical settings in the past few years. I have been doing shadowing and intern work since the summer of my junior year of high school in the field of medicine.

2 Month long internship in which I shadowed Dr. Rob Headrick a thoracic surgeon of Memorial hospital in Chattanooga, TN. This by far has been my most interesting and knowledge rich shadowing experience so far. I learned about many different lung conditions, rare diseases, and was taught how prevalent these diseases were across different groups of people.
Volunteering to help Sewanee and Hyfe identify cough test patterns of Covid positive and Covid negative patients on a weekly basis.
Filled bottles and gained experience working with chemicals and around heavy machinery.
Followed Dr. Johnson around and interacted with patients throughout most of the day. he explained to me how procedures work and some of the peculiar cases that he works with near the end of the day when he had to settle down and do paperwork.
Shadowed 4 doctors across 4 different specialties, including Vascular Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology, Also attended lectures by over a dozen doctors across even more specialties.
Helped work with dogs who were in roughed out shaped or had many problems with them. I would take them in and foster them for awhile to make sure they were fit for new homes later down the line.
