• First responder to local overdoses - Narcan and CPR trained.
• Provides short-term health navigation to active drug users in Cambridge area.
• Creates kits for safe drug use, including outreach kits, safer smoking kits, safe-sex kits, fentanyl testing kits, and wound care kits.
• Builds strong and authentic relationships with clients, providing not only material aid but emotional support.
• Handles used needles and drug samples.
• Provides data to Department of Public Health on a consistent basis.
• Provides research to supervisors for ongoing education on drug use and local drug supply.
• Provides clients one-on-one services including assistance getting into detox, shelters, or domestic abuse services.
• Proficient in de-escalation, conflict management, and mediation.
• Led events, presentations, and workshops, that centered intersectional thought and practices with the larger Gustavus community while also highlighting the many unique identities on campus and the benefits that come from diverse communities.
• Acted as a spokesperson for the Center for Inclusive Excellence by being the liaison between our office and others.
• Prioritized the needs of our most marginalized students on campus by aiding students facing food and housing insecurity, students who deal with any form of discrimination whether from another student or an employee of the school, and students who need additional mentoring.
• Supervised student employees and maintained worker records, facilitated project building, and assisted in the development of job duties.
• Archived all physical material in the office by organizing and copying to manage in an online database.
