MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Help meet the individual needs of students, including transferring them to and from wheelchairs, lifting and positioning them, and signing or interpreting instructions for them, if needed.
• Help students take care of physical needs and personal care including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
• Help manage the behavior of assigned students. This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or student behavior as needed.
• Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Assist assigned students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.

• Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building.

• Answered telephone and scheduled appointments
• Greeted and directed visitors
• Routed incoming mail
• Filed correspondence and other records
• Answered telephones and gave information to callers and routed calls to appropriate official
• Greeted visitors, conducted visitors to appropriate person
• Perform general clerical duties.
