Duties Summary: Office Assistant Lead Worker in the Centralized MEDS Unit: Train and review work for new employees, while maintaining my own work load as required by Supervising Office Assistant. I Work with multiple program to accomplish my task daily in Cal-Heers (State Wide Program), Cal-win (County wide Program), Meds (State wide Program), File-net and TMT program / computer system to complete daily Alerts / Holds and Meds 150 Request in a timely manner without immediate supervision. I participated in a MEDS Disaster Recover Exercise, I was identified as one of the primary MEDS contact for our County, I worked with the DHCS Coordinator and our MEDS Program Specialists for this exercise, I was required to log on to MEDS using the Vacaville DR IP Addresses, and select 5 random clients and add their information onto the MEDS system and Communicate back to the MEDS Program Specialists with my outcome. I was also selected to attend a monthly Clerical Operation Meeting with My Supervisor and Chief Supervising Office Assistant as the chair person because of my knowledge in the MEDS Policies and Procedures Guides and Workflows. • Review Federal, State and County rules, regulations and procedures to guarantee to be current with any changes before entering transactions, Aid Codes, etc.. into the State MEDS program which provides benefits to qualifying county residents. • Supporting DSS related to Medi-Cal Eligibility Data System (MEDS) transactions which involves knowledge, interpretation and applications of the policies, rules, regulations, and procedures used to complete transactions within MEDS to add, remove, or force the various client information or aid codes associated with the age groups or specific client demographics. Aid Codes used pertain to specific age, disabilities and income limits associated with the client’s Medi-Cal case in CalWIN or Covered California for Affordable Care Act (ACA) clients. • Monitor the MEDS Alerts received by the Department as I have to research all Alerts for resolution through our various operating systems. During the research when additional information is required outside of the documented information within the systems used, I must create a task for the Eligibility Worker who then reviews for action in CalWIN / CalHEERS or to obtain verification from the client. Tracking and monitoring of the requests to maintain and when the request has not been responded to, escalate to their immediate supervisor and/or program manager. • Monitor the requests submitted by EW staff on Form 150s to DSS MEDS mailboxes • Special projects as related to rejected or pending MEDS information received from the State or upon Department need. Research must be completed on each client on the project list, information is compiled and provided to administration as directed regarding the special projects before being submitted back to the appropriate area which may include back to the State. • Update to DSS policy and procedures regarding MEDS access to the system, requesting transactions by eligibility, when to force/merge client information, etc… Knowledge of the system, interpreting the various MEDS rules and procedures used assist in updating DSS policy and procedures.
