Engineer II – Transmission Planning

  • Performed System Impact Studies for the Interconnection of Generation Resources utilizing power flow software (PSLF). Studies include contingency analysis, transient analysis, post-transient analysis, and short circuit. Mitigations and Cost Estimates are provided as a result of the studies and presented to Customers.
  • Wrote, reviewed, and edited technical facility studies that addressed the infrastructure impact caused by the addition of new elements to the IID Electrical System. Reports included technical requirements, cost estimates, and timelines. This requires coordination with consultants and internal personnel of all disciplines.
  • Perform regular compliance activities. This includes a yearly TPL-001 reliability study, a review of FAC-008 ratings, and model validation as required per MOD-025, 026, 027, 032, and 33. Assisted in the development of IID's Blackstart plan as required by EOP-005.
  • Provide technical review and edits of large Generation Interconnection Agreements.
  • Assisted in the development of both O&M and Capital budgets.
  • Developed and Review Request for Proposals (RFP) for various engineering activities. Upon awarding the Project, provided technical direction and coordination for successful project execution.
