Mr. Morgan’s ability to collaborate with all departments and personnel at Scotia-Glenville Middle School is exemplary. He has been a positive influence on our teaching staff, and they have come to rely on him when it comes to classroom behavior, scheduling, and academic enhancement issues. He has also made an impact on the overall academic culture of Scotia-Glenville in a short time by working exhaustively with parents and community members toward creating a high-quality learning environment for students. • Planned and supported the development of Mayfield Central School District DCIP and SCEP plans, including stakeholder surveys and professional development for staff, resulting in the schools removal from the ESSA designation as a School in need of Improvement during the '23-'24 SY.
• Substantially increased Mayfield's digital footprint within the Capital Region Distance Learning network by budgeting for and building a second distance learning classroom at Mayfield. Worked to increase the virtual learning options for students, including providing them with a virtual learning option for students to access a foreign language curriculum.
• Effectively ensured the safety and welfare of Scotia-Middle School students and staff while operating in a hybrid learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the creation of a Virtual Code of Conduct for Scotia-Glenville Middle School while operating in a hybrid learning environment.
• Albany Business Review ranked Schalmont Middle school #8 out of 102 schools in 2013.
• Conducted successful integration of 150 5th grade students and 10 staff into a traditional grade 6-8 building after closing two community-based elementary schools.
• Consistently achieved at or below building budget of $146,000, as required by school district guidelines.
• Worked with district personnel and the local bargaining unit representatives to negotiate and implement a new Annual Professional Performance Review plan as required by New York state law.
• Maintained a strong working relationship with union leadership by implementing monthly meetings with building representatives and department coordinators.
• Established and chaired the Sabre Pride committee to proactively promote character education and combat bullying in middle school.
• Provided instructional leadership by working on the Schalmont Teacher Institutes policy board and curriculum committee to provide quality professional development opportunities for middle school staff. Oversaw projects such as curriculum mapping and implementation of Common Core Learning Standards.
