• Estimate underground utility packages including takeoff, material/subcontractor price solicitation, HCSS HeavyBid estimates and proposals. Both private and public contracts.
• Develop HeavyBid databases from scratch to include establishing labor & equipment rates and material database.
• Train estimators with no prior computerized estimating software experience in the use of HeavyBid
• Complete project management including material submittals, material procurement, scheduling, change orders, monthly billing, and project closeout.

• Normal estimating/project management duties
• Create company specific HCSS HeavyBid databases (labor, equipment, materials) and introduce computerized estimating to a company with no experience with such a system.
• Lease and/or purchase equipment from small tools up to CAT 963C track loader including mini excavators, pickups, dump trucks, etc.
• Manage small fleet of pickups, dump trucks, trailers, mini excavators, track loader, dozer, rubber tire backhoe and excavator to ensure DOT compliance and safe daily operation though our in-house full service shop.
• Business development. Securing new clients and finding new bid opportunities.

Started as a laborer and worked my way through various positions such as pipelayer, loader/dozer/excavator operator, truck driver, foreman, dispatch, earthwork takeoff, estimator/project manager and finally dedicated public utility estimator.

Successfully procured $50 million-$70 million in public contracts annually including water main, sewer interceptor, sewer force main, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, bridges and various other infrastructure projects.

Prior to focusing on public work in my last 7 years with AAM, my focus had been estimating and managing housing subdivisions, small to medium commercial sites, educational facilities and big box warehouses.
