- As a Lead ACO at Lancaster animal service I am responsible for all staffing and discipline of employees shaping the best environment for the shelter and residents.
- Clean Kennels, walk, feed and water dogs, clean vehicles, shelter, and run inventory on any items needed, perform euthanasia's, intake vaccines and respond to emails, maintain records of impoundments adoptions and dogs sent to rescue, track calls and dispatch when there is another officer available.
- Respond to calls, impound dogs, set traps for elusive dogs, educate residents on city and state ordinances, issue citations, testify in court, work with cruelty detective, fill out reports to pursue charges, euthanized or returned to their owners, pick up and dispose of deceased animals in the city, provide assistance to residents when needed.
- Arrange for vet visits, organize special events, communicate with rescue groups, maintain stats on dogs including their behavior, tendencies, and any concerns that may arise.
- Develop forms for Bites Reports, notice of violation and lists of rescues that we provide residents when we can not impound their pet.
- Attend meetings with city manager and PD to discuss options for the shelter as well as provide a report of the animals in the shelter.
