• BaldTeens Forum, 04/2020, present, Joined private peer-to-peer forum for teens with all forms of Alopecia to connect with a like-minded community; participated in Zoom panels on critical topics such as mental health, social media, bullying, stress management, medical trials and JKA research, and issues with insurance companies.Forum leader for BaldTeens which aims to provide a supportive community for teenagers dealing with the mental health and social media pressures of having Alopecia, a disease I was diagnosed with at age nine. Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss, which can lead to social stigma and emotional distress, particularly for teenagers.Successfully grew a critically private and safe peer-to-peer forum, helped build mentorship program, created online friendship exchanges, hosted confidence workshops, researched and provided resources for a wide range of topics.Named to Mentor in June 2023 and paired with a younger teen to be a valuable resource for individuals who feel isolated or lack support in the face of their physical differences and the unprecedented importance impressed upon them in today's society.Advanced from peer community Host to forum Moderator based on continuous successful use of critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions in weekly formal forum sessions.Kept up with medical news, new trials, FDA approvals, and fundraising efforts, also managed community through incredibly tough topics including death of a 12-year Alopecian who took her own life due to bullying.Driven to stay informed about the latest advancements in Alopecia, crafted a business plan to build out BaldTeens to a national community with future support from the National Alopecia organization.
