  • As the Vice President of Clinical Affairs & Operations I have worked closely with DHA leadership and member leads on a wide variety of advocacy and clinical efforts. This has required extensive clinical background with emphasis on population health, excellent written and verbal communications skills, a high degree of initiative, innovation and organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with association members, and a vast array of community partners. Demonstrated experience working with and analyzing data is required. The position includes interaction with the Board of Directors and senior management personnel at member hospitals.
  • Significant responsibilities include: Serving as clinical and operational lead for DHA, with emphasis on alignment of clinical and operational strategies Strategic planning, leading/mentoring multidisciplinary teams, engaging staff and key stakeholders Leading DHA healthcare data and financial analysis, and software system implementation Overseeing DHA operations which includes budget, audit, human resources, benefit services and business and regulatory compliance Developing internal and external partnerships to drive impact, community presence and overall quality of care outcomes and organizational financial sustainability
  • Specific Skills and Associated Duties: Extensive clinical knowledge and patient care experience, best practices and current care guidelines. Business case development and implementation, with focus on high quality care outcomes and financial sustainability. Expertise in health disparities, high need/long stay patient dynamics, rural health, palliative and end-of- life care, population health metrics and clinically integrated networks of care. Healthcare system operations design and implementation of value-based care, shared savings programs, accountable care and population health programming. Oversight of monthly and annual operations and programming budgets Management of human resource functions including oversight of benefits and payroll. Acquisition, analysis and presentation of healthcare cost, operational and performance and quality data and presentation of same to underscore the value of healthcare services to the state. Comprehensive understanding of Community Health Needs Assessments, Implementation Plans and coordination of member programming with the State Health Improvement Plan. Identification and monitoring of trends and opportunities in areas responsible for including health care quality and patient safety, trauma system and hospital preparedness. Healthcare Utilization – Data Analysis/Reporting, year-end trends. Prepare utilization reports, present to Board as needed and fulfill special requests from State. Participation in DHA legislative Advocacy Council and Board of Director meetings. Advocacy including registration as lobbyist and providing testimony on legislation.
