• Charge experience. Attends all deliveries, anticipating emergency situations and collaborating with the entirety of the health care team to organize responses. Oversees high-risk patients, helping form a plan with primary nurses to ensure patient safety. Manages unit staffing, keeping safe nurse-patient ratios.
• Resource nurse experience. Attends all deliveries, helping with emergency situations and recovering infants during the immediate postpartum period.
• Member of the Nurse Practice Council. Helps identify areas of improvement in patient care and assists with formulating solutions. Specifically passionate about assisting with improvement and facilitation of mock drills.

• Charge experience. Helps facilitate high-quality patient care by anticipating needs of other staff, ensuring closed loop communication between all health care team members, managing daily staffing assignments and arranging transport to higher levels of care when necessary.
• Coordinates individualized care of laboring mothers based on patient preferences and risk factors.
• Responds to labor complications and emergencies calmly, forming and implementing care plans based on patient presentation.
• Recovers mothers in the immediate postpartum period, assessing for any complications and promoting family bonding.
• Transitions neonates during the immediate postpartum period, determining APGAR scores and providing resuscitation measures when needed.
• Cares for postpartum couplets, providing breastfeeding education and assistance. Assesses for maternal or newborn complications.
• Documents and participates in quality and safety improvement measures.
• Serves as the unit representative on the Patient Experience Committe.
