• I began my homeschooling journey with my two oldest children when they were in kinder and pre-k in January 2001. From there I started my wholehearted commitment to educating my five children to the best of my abilities. Since I believed in my educational background and what group learning has to offer, after a few years, I found learning groups and coops to further grow my children's academic and social development and to pursue teaching outside of the home for myself.
• Being a homeschool educator was one of the greatest challenges and rewards I have every achieved. Being able to teach multiple children at different ages effectively while helping them to mentor each other brought me such joy. My number one goal was to instill in my children the passion for learning and the inner drive to want to learn for themselves...the true love for learning.
• Being a homeschool teacher is more than just a teacher. You are the head of your school, you decide your focus, your vision, your achievement level, etc. You create and choose all the curriculum you want to teach and study. It is continuous learning for yourself so you can be a better teacher every day. You create and implement hands on learning to make education come alive while fostering personal learning and commitment by each individual child. You balance education with life and all the activities and classes you choose for. your family to be involved in. You have to continually change and enhance based on learning styles and needs. What works for one may not work for another.
• This commitment was a journey that I did with each of my five children. My oldest four children homeschooled through 5th grade, then attended public middle school and high school. They found great success in their studies and all are graduates of the University of Texas Austin. My oldest son is a computer scientist and my three daughters are teachers, 2 in Austin and one in NYC. I homeschooled our youngest son through 6th grade and completed my homeschool journey in May 2017. My youngest son attended public middle school, Regents of Austin Classical School for high school, and pursued his studies at Purdue University in computer science.

• Monday Coop where educators taught all subjects of study to students on Mondays weekly and set their homework curriculum to be implemented at home by their homeschool teacher. Assignments are completed at home to be turned in and graded the next Monday.
