As a first-generation, undocumented Latina, I am driven by a passion for assisting underserved communities through healthcare and health services. With immense dedication, I am eager to contribute my skills and knowledge to initiatives and opportunities that promote equity and access to quality healthcare for all.

Summer Undergraduate Research Excellence (SURE), Aug. 2022 - Aug. 2023, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD,

• Conducted research using Drosophila as a model organism to study neurodegenerative diseases.
• Investigated the relationship between misfolded proteins and protein quality control mechanisms, contributing to the understanding of cellular processes in disease progression.
• Studied pathologies associated with Tau and TDP-43, specifically their role in neurodegeneration, and presented findings in lab meetings/reports.
• Developed hands-on experience in maintaining fly cultures, data collection, and experimental design.

CURE Research Excellence, Feb. 2023 - May 2023, Trinity Washington University, Washington, D.C.

• Worked with Cell Biology peers to answer a question related to RNA synthesis.
• Used spectrophotometer to measure our quantitative data.
• Researched more on how organic compounds can bind to RNA's A-site.
