- Consistently monitored student progress and provided feedback to both students and parents to improve performance and establish academic success. I provided equable assessments to audit student progress through quizzes, exams, essays, oral presentations, and informal observations targeting support where needed. My students showed an overall improvement rating of 15% on Standard State Tests.
- Supported students in development of skills and strategies to become independent and successful learners. Implemented IEP's (individualized education plans) for students with special needs. Attended and engaged in parent and school therapist IEP meetings quarterly to review student progress and discuss any changes supporting student academic, emotional and social learning. Worked with other teachers to support struggling students and provide thorough help to rectify comprehension issues. Overall, based on consistent and organized implementation of IEP's, there was a 10% increase in students' parents meeting participation and student completion of academic and social tasks improved.

During that time, we visited surrounding universities and colleges, supported organizations through volunteer community services, developed organization and time management skills to support academic success, and, prepared and maintained college and career preparedness portfolios. My AVID class had the highest graduation rate at 100%, improved by over 30% in student class scores, and showed the most success in obtaining grants and scholarships to date for our school.
