Our mission was to move Household goods for US Military Department of Defense Civilian personnel to and from overseas locations.
As dispatcher my duties included moving shipments from local moving agents to domestic ports for shipment by steamship to foreign ports for eventual delivery to local agents for delivery to residence. On inbound shipments I would coordinate pick up from to port and delivery to local agents.
To accomplish this I would solicit rates from a list of Freight Brokers and award the freight to the most qualified broker.
I was also responsible to track the progress of the movement of the shipments and report the status as well as any delays to the Military as well as the property owner. The objective was to accomplish this by the Required Delivery Date that is set by the military.
It was also my responsibility to receive and record Vessel Manifests and keep track of movement ans any delays and report the reasons for any delay.
Upon arrival of shipments at port I would work with port agents to get shipments offloaded from the vessels and cleared by Customs and get them ready to move from port.
This position was remote position and it ended when the company experienced a reduction in business and I was laid off.

This position entailed moving Household goods to and from overseas for US Military members as well as Department of Defense Civilians.
As dispatcher my primary duties included coordinating movement to the port once a shipment was packed and ready to go and movement from the port to the local moving agent on inbound shipments as well as.receiving vessel manifests and recording the information in our system and tracking the progress.
Each shipment has a Required Delivery Date to the residence of the property owner and I was responsible to do everything possible to meet that date and report any delays to the military and the property owner.
Red Ball Forwarders went out of business therefore ending my employment.

This entailed being responsible for the overall operation of both the Dining Facility on the main post as well as field food service operations which fee meals to soldiers at many remote sites under tactical situations.
