To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing to express my interest in the Medical Writer position. I have been a Professor for 28 years and a nationally-certified and state-licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC)/healthcare provider for 34 years.
As an ATC, I have worked with physicians and other healthcare providers my entire professional career here in central Iowa. I have created three healthcare programs at the college level involved in teaching pre-health students clinical techniques and contemporary topics such as genomics, next-generation sequencing, and point-of-care devices and their applications in the future of health and medicine.
As a professor, I keep up with the latest and newest research and proficient in articulating this information to others. I have a diverse set of skills and have a very comfortable knowledge of the medical language, human anatomy & physiology, pathoetiological processes, and general medicine..
I have also experienced personal tragedy in my life losing two nieces to ALS. This led me to a great deal of researching neurodegeneration, ALS, neurology, genomics, epigenetics, autophagy, infectious disease, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. I absolutely love reading research, organizing, coordinating, and writing about medical topics in a way that people can understand.
I believe my years of experience as a professor, healthcare professional in a variety of settings, and unique personal tragedy makes me a strong candidate for this position. While I have not been a professional writer, it is much easier to educate someone to write better than teaching them the vastness of health and medicine. I have that health and medicine background. I understand that being proactive and working on my own are critical traits for this position. I don’t believe you would find anyone more motivated and excited for what this position has to offer. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Mike Hadden
