  • Operation, repair, preventative maintenance, and maintenance of swimming pools, equipment, and facilities. Convert facilities to LED lighting systems, install low voltage systems to comply with current state and government green initiatives/requirements. Maintain credentials for existing and new technology for new building automation systems. Utilize Remote Interface Systems (BAS Systems) for HVAC & building automation, including natatorium environmental systems. Utilize Power Over Internet (POI) and intranet structures, including the installation of new network lines.
  • Monitor pool functions to include reading gauges, graphs, meters and control panels to ensure water quality. Building maintenance practices and custodial methods and supplies.
  • Basic operation of pumps and pool purification, high pressure blowers, and pneumatic cylinders. Operate pool chlorination and filtration systems.
  • Maintain, rebuild, and/or replace pumps, small & large motors, boiler systems, pipes and valves, pool-filtering equipment including water pumps, chemical dispenser systems and chlorinators.
  • Maintain and repair water slides, diving board, public address systems, surrounding pool areas and decks. Maintain water features, spray pads to include proper mechanical operation, as well as heaters, HVAC pressure vessels.
  • Maintain whirlpool and sauna.
  • Maintain sand, buoys, chairs, and shade structures at Diamond Lake Beach.
  • Keep abreast off all pertinent safety procedures and OSHA standards, hazards and safety precautions applicable to pool maintenance. Maintain certification for confined space entry and non-entry rescue (OSHA 1910.146), as well as respirator protection and APR use as well as OSHA 1910.134. Work with local fire departments for team training on confined space rescue, dive training, and mass casualty events.
  • Vacuuming and clean swimming pools, backwash filters, clean restrooms facilities, and pool equipment rooms. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for purchasing of materials, equipment and general services. Plan, coordinate and supervise work with outside contractors. Be able to read and interpret all facility architectural plans and as builds.
  • Administer annual budget for all aquatics related facilities.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train and evaluate seasonal and/or year-round part-time staff.
  • Review employee work hours to verify accuracy and approve payroll.
  • Responsible for aquatic related quality control, including Class C Government Level Wildlife Management License.
  • Inspect aquatic facilities (Barefoot Bay, Spray Park, Indoor Pool and Diamond Lake) and work areas to eliminate deficiencies and improve facilities.
  • Coordinate Hazcom Standard compliance activities as Tier II Manager for facilities in area with local and/or state EMA and LPC, including filing annual reports with both agencies for Hazmat and Hazardous materials.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all aquatic facilities equipment and document preventative maintenance schedule. Maintain winter and summer valve schedules for summer and winter operations.
  • Schedule and assist State Fire Marshall with fire and alarm system inspections and repairs on all heating systems and pressure vessels.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned in other areas/divisions such as snow plowing, painting, building maintenance. Able to operate equipment to assist grounds operations, contractors, and IT providers with facility infrastructure updates : heavy equipment (backhoe, trenching equipment, 6 wheeler, skid steer) and mowing equipment (string trimmers, field mowers.)
  • Pool/Spa Operator certification (CPO) from National Swimming Pool Foundation and Aquatic Facility Operator certification.
  • CDL Class B license with airbrake endorsement. Public Works Driving Techniques Certification with intensive training through International Academy for Professional Driving.
  • Certificate of Achievement from FEMA for IS-00100 Introduction to Incident Command System, (ICS 100), as well as IS-00700 National Incident Management System (NIMS).
