Accomplishments

    Field Training Officer since May 2013: Responsible for the training and evaluation of a junior or probationary level member. Special Response Team member since June 2014: Trained in controlling and resolving emergency situations while taking the safety and security of staff, inmates, and others into consideration.

    Awarded Officer of the Month in April 2015 and in August 2020. Awarded Officer of the Year for 2015.

    Promoted to the rank of Detention Corporal in December of 2015.

    Promoted to the rank of Detention Sergeant in March 2017. Special Response Team Leader from December 2015 to June 2020.

    I have been trained and certified to use OC Spray, Pepper Ball Launcher, Less Lethal 40mm Launcher, and a Taser.

    Instructed classes on subject control techniques, report writing, open area extractions, restraint chair, OC spray, cell extractions and physical fitness.

    Coordinated a yearly training schedule for the Special Response Team, conducted mock riots, training courses, institutional shakedowns and procurement of new equipment for the Special Response Team. Assigned as the shift administrator of the Detention Center which entails being in charge of the facility and supervising up to 45 employees.
