  • Serving as the Fast Response Cutter (FRC) Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT) Supervisor at Base Galveston from July 2019 through July 2024
  • Displaying exceptional leadership, took on the critical role of the MAT stand-up and delivery of three Base Galveston homeported FRCs and an additional two within District Eight
  • This was the first and only one in Texas
  • A pioneer of innovation, led the MAT through the largest in-water repair of a Coast Guard asset following a nor’easter and completed the Service’s first in-water emergency generator swap on an FRC
  • His insights and feedback were instrumental in the decision and problem-solving process, providing key feedback to Product Line for future repairs and long-term care of critical underway assets
  • Always ready for the next challenge, he assisted the local 175-foot inland buoy tender with their deck fittings overhaul
  • This included cropping out and welding in forty new tie-down cups and watertight fittings
  • Pushing the envelope of organic repair solutions, his ingenuity saved the Coast Guard thousands in contracting costs
  • A true in-house advocate assisted the local US Marine Corp Reserve Unit by leading the MAT to repair their amphibious assault vehicles
  • This included multi-pass welding repairs to four watertight hatches on the crafts.

  • Command Chief on CGC VIGOROUS
  • Sailor of the Quarter while stationed at ANT Moriches
  • Found three separate class wide fire hazards on three separate platforms, 41’ UTB, 175’ WPB’, and 210 WMEC. In all cases recommended solutions and developed Engineering Changes that were sent out to the fleet preventing personnel injury and equipment damage.
  • Hauled out first ever 87’ PB by Blue Suiters for emergency dry-dock after Hurricane Harvey.
