Aluminum Train
- The fabrication and assembly of mini aluminum train parts with the use of basic machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, band saws, and grinders, including micrometers, vernier calipers, and other devices of use in a machine shop or laboratory. Welding techniques and tool making were also considered.
Fully modular marine safety system (AutoSpot)
- In a team of 8, a marine safety device was produced for our Introduction to Engineering Design.
- Final product was affordable with a cost of less than $200, and easy to install with less than an estimated 10 minute install time.
- Had a secure design as it was watertight, and able to handle at least 7 separate sensors at a time, and any value below 7 as well.
- Eliminates the need for a spotter since the system autonomously detected falls.
