Interview patients to obtain medical information and measures their vital signs.
Escort patients to exam rooms and prepares for the medical provider.
Document patients’ medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens as requested by medical provider and prepares them for testing.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by medical provider.
Translate and explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and medical provider’s instructions to patients.
Perform blood draws, administer immunizations and injections.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat, clean and fully stocked.
Clean and sterilize instruments and disposes of any contaminated supplies.
Change dressings on wounds.
Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients’ tests and/or admissions.
Perform general office duties such as answering phones and completing forms when necessary.
Take inventory and order medical, lab and office supplies and equipment.
Maintain logs for recall purposes.
Perform routine laboratory tests and perform daily testing controls.
Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
Adhere to and follow universal precautions.
Adhere to and follow established nursing policies, procedures and practices.
Rotate to other Health Centers as needed.
Interact in a professional manner and work collaboratively with Clinicas’ staff and patients.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, vendors and employees.
Assist patients with mental illness, substance abuse problems and or/emotional disturbance.
Perform other duties as assigned including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
