During the summer, I worked as an intern with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department’s Boat Patrol unit. I helped enforce boating laws, ensuring the safety of recreational boaters. My duties included assisting officers in checking boats for safety equipment and ensuring compliance with regulations like speed limits and life jacket requirements. I also witnessed search and rescue operations, gaining insight into law enforcement’s role in maintaining safety on the water.
