  • March 2020, August 2020, University of Texas at Arlington, MSW Program, Completed open coding for transcripts under the direction of Dr. Saltanat Childress for a research study about domestic violence in Kyrgyzstan. Once coding was completed for a transcript, summaries were provided for each theme identified in the transcript. Completed weekly supervisory meetings to discuss progress with project.
  • January 2020, March 2020, IEA (Inspire, Encourage, Achieve), Beaumont, TX, Assisted with entering data in to their electronic record, providing classes for parents of at risk children at the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Facility. Attended evening activities with at-risk youth in the IEA mentorship program which provided education and resources to help prevent them from entering the criminal justice system. Unfortunately, the internship was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • June 2019, December 2019, Family Services of Southeast Texas, Worked with clients in the women and children's shelter. Assisted with ensuring that all basic needs were met, assisted with intake appointments, shadowed counselor during psychosocial assessments. Shadowed case managers and assisted with routine paperwork. Held two group sessions with women residing out the shelter with supervision.

Volunteer Experience

  • 2019, Present, Pineywoods Food Pantry, Spurger, TX, Assists with distributing food at least monthly. Member of the board. Attends monthly meetings as scheduled. Assists with fundraising events.
  • 2010, Present, Consumer Advocate Advisory Committee (CAAC), Spindletop Center, Attends quarterly meetings to discuss consumer and family satisfaction with the TxHmL and HCS programs. Review methods to improve services delivered by Spindletop Center. Also discuss fundraising strategies to raise money for two yearly events (dances, or Consumer Fun Day) and volunteers to help decorate and work each event.
  • 2013, 2021, Spurger Methodist Church Administrative Council, Spurger, TX, Ensures that quarterly meeting minutes are completed and completes annual paperwork for the conference. Also participate in community events throughout the year.
