Letter of Reference for Morgan Cox
To whom it may concern:
I trained as an emergency physician, and worked as an urgent care physician with Morgan Cox at BestMed Urgent Care (formerly Nova Urgent Care) for a year-and-a-half as she filled various roles there. I found Morgan to be a self-motivated, curious, intelligent, hardworking, resourceful, and personable co-worker and a genuine team player. She started working at Nova (BestMed) as a Patient Access Specialist (PAS), a position which combined public-facing front-desk receptionist duties with information gathering from patients (demographic, insurance, and basic medical), scheduling, clinic workflow coordination, and inventory management (office and medical supplies). She excelled in her role as PAS, and I was always happy to see her on duty when I came to work for my scheduled shift.
After a year at Nova (BestMed), while still working full time as a PAS, she completed college-level coursework to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). She excelled in this new role, too. Her skills and expertise as a CMA grew rapidly as she discovered her innate interest and natural talent for absorbing and applying medical knowledge; she quickly became a trusted member of our medical team and was clearly committed to helping deliver excellent patient care. As a team player, Morgan was also willing to fill in for whichever roles were most needed from her in our clinic on any given day (CMA, PAS, or a little of both).
A few months after receiving her CMA certification, again while working full time, Morgan completed additional college-level coursework to become a Certified Phlebotomist — where she has also excelled. She quickly became our clinic’s most technically skilled phlebotomist (surpassing several more experienced professionals) and demonstrated a natural aptitude for putting patients at ease. Although she continued to fill in for whichever roles were most needed from her in our clinic on any given day (CMA, PAS, phlebotomist, or some of each), her clinical roles and responsibilities became much more prominent as her clinical value was recognized by healthcare providers (nurse practitioners, physicians), clinic supervisors, and corporate management.
I genuinely respect Morgan Cox as a healthcare professional, and I like her as a person. If I had a job for her, I would hire her without hesitation.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have additional questions.
Sincerely,
Susan T. Haney, MD, FACEP, FAAEM
