A fellow peer of mine in high school began attempting to be profitable in the stock market by trading shares a few times a week. I watched him over the next few upcoming months make slow, but profitable trades. It was incredibly fascinating for me to watch this unfold, as this was a skill that many desired to achieve, but didn't have the understanding to do so. I began taking time to educate myself for a few hours a week. I fell in love with this hobby, and decided to start paper trading after developing a foundational understanding. It took me almost a full year before I became consistently profitable, although shortly after I started to become confident, I opened up an account in a user friendly brokerage under my parents name that allowed me to dip my toe into the market while being underage. I learned so many incredibly important lessons the first few months of trading, many of which were rookie mistakes. towards the end of my high school career, I became consistently profitable, and used it as a form of income. As I quickly became obsessed with this process, I started to think about professions in the financial industry that would fascinate me on the same level.
