I shadowed Dr. Naqvi at his Adult and Pediatric Clinic, gaining valuable insight into the entire process of patient care, from initial intake and physical examinations to diagnosis and treatment planning. I also became familiar with clinical protocols and note-taking. This direct exposure solidified my understanding of the physician assistant's role in a diverse healthcare environment.
I learned about structural and congenital heart diseases by shadowing Dr. Khan. My experience included observing patient histories and physical examinations, learning about diagnostic modalities like EKGs, and understanding treatment plans, which included important patient counseling.
I gained valuable experience shadowing Dr. Husain at his clinic, where I observed patient assessments, history-taking, diagnoses, and treatments. I also became familiar with routine vaccination procedures. This experience helped me understand the unique challenges of diagnosing and communicating with both children and their parents, as well as the importance of reassuring them.
