- Ensure Employment Tax payments and returns for federal, state, and local jurisdictions are processed accurately and timely.
- Process Employment Tax payments and returns of all filing frequencies for jurisdictions including: federal withholding and unemployment taxes, multi-state withholding and unemployment taxes, and local withholding taxes, accurately and timely.
- Process payroll tax adjustments to correct employees’ wage base and tax deductions during payroll processing or on separate cycles for current and/or prior periods, as needed.
- Process Year End Reconciliations and W2 Balancing for all of our clients and their employees' W2s quarterly and communicate with clients on issues to resolve.
- Manage and process payroll tax amendments as needed or requested.
- Manage client notices received from various tax agencies.
- Research and resolve payroll tax notices received by contacting federal, state or local agencies and log each item to track whether outstanding, resolved and it’s cause.
- Request and maintain tax account numbers and rate information from agencies to ensure accurate submission of payments and returns, including State Unemployment Rate Notices and.
- Ensure procedures and instructions are in place and/or updated. If not then create as necessary.
- Work directly with CEO, Directors and other Team Members for payroll tax support/research.
- Assist with tax accounting functions and bank reconciliations.
- Manage and review data exported from payroll software to our tax software to ensure information is correct for filing purposes.
- Use Microsoft Excel and recently Google Sheets for further tracking or research on daily items or issue/project research.
- Use software tools like HubSpot and Monday.com to manage tasks between all team members involved in multiple tasks and projects.
- Train Payroll Tax Analyst all needed skills and knowledge in order to perform job duties; create training outline, schedules, training materials, and process instructions.
- Coordinate and distribute responsibilities between Payroll Tax Analyst and myself; includes current tasks as well as planning and adapting to future responsibilities.
- Research using resources, such as BNA, CCH, and agency websites, to uphold new laws and provisions that apply to payroll tax compliance.
Please note the break of employment from this position from April 2019 through October 2022 to assist managing and growing family home inspection business, Precision Property Inspections, in Indian River County, Florida.
