For four years, JROTC has been one of the most defining parts of my high-school experience. From the moment I joined as a freshman, I committed myself to the program's values of discipline, responsibility, and teamwork. What began as curiosity quickly grew into a deep sense of pride and purpose. Throughout my time in JROTC, I dedicated my self to the air-rifle team, a discipline that demands focus, patience, and consistency. I competed in four state-level competitions, each one pushing me to improve my skills and represent my battalion with confidence and professionalism.
As I gained experience, I also took on the responsibility of helping train new cadets. Teaching weapon safety and proper weapon handling became one of the most meaningful parts of my role. I learned how to guide others, communicate clearly, and set the example for younger students who were just beginning their own JROTC journey. Watching them grow reminded me of where I started and reinforced the importance of leadership within the program.
Now, as a senior, I can look back and see how much JROTC has shaped me. The program challenged me, motivated me, and helped me become someone who leads with integrity and commitment.
