160 year old company based in Nashville, TN that provides a summer sales program for college students. I worked as an Independent Sales Rep selling educational books, apps, and websites Door to Door in rural West Virginia, Nashville and Pennsylvania. Over the course of my tenure I prospected, approached, and pitched over 2,500 families door to door in multiple states, selling in a new environments that were often times challenging and uncomfortable.

Below is a list of skills I learned, Implemented, and Demonstrated on a daily basis.

  • Sales- I built and recruited a sales organization of students to join the Southwestern program under me as well as personally selling to over 500+ families during my tenure. I ranked as the number one rookie sales representative in the state my first summer and top 100 in the entire company overall in the following years.
  • Professionalism- Demonstrating ethical and warm interactions with every family I encountered, doing the best I could to always leave them with a smile.
  • Highly Positive and Friendly Attitude during fast paced and stressful situations.
  • Communication- Listening attentively to determine a customers needs, and offering solutions by filling that need and tailoring my presentation around who im speaking to.
  • Coachability- I have a strong desire to be the best I can be and learn all I can to be of great service to others.
  • Developing Rapport- Getting strangers to know, like , and trust me in a short amount of time.
  • Problem Solving- Thinking on my feet and taking immediate action despite setbacks.
  • Phoning Skills- Calling on over 1,000 individuals, one of my responsibilities was to greet, set appointments, and coordinate meetings with College Students and potential prospects for recruitment to our program. Talking clearly and eligibly to ensure proper communication on both ends.
