I am a 27 year old cosmetology student, recently moving to Dallas in January 2025. I have a background in customer service, from waitress to optical assistant, I have put my hands in every cookie jar. I am someone who enjoys learning all aspects of whatever job I work - so I can be the best asset to not only management but to coworkers, apprentices and anyone else who decides to walk with me. My experience has shaped me into a person who is caring, driven, and ready to work.
At UMA, I worked remotely answering phone calls and working files to prepare students for their academic years and apply what the DOE will pay for their classes. I would walk students through FAFSA forms, tax documents that needed to be changed or prepared, and helped students navigate financial issues. I advised students on how their awards were applied, and escalated calls when necessary. I had a true passion for this job, and ensuring students were secure for their future endeavors, even past graduation. We used Microsoft based products for communication and keeping track of students data and files.
At Best Buy, I assisted customers in their electronic needs and walked customers through their best options while also recommending services to help maintain the upkeep of their device. I excelled in many areas of Best Buy, however under management of Kim Morris, this is where I felt my leadership goals really started to take off. I became a shift lead to not only help open and close the store but be an asset to my team and customers alike.
At Visionworks, I did a lot of paperwork and handled patients to ensure they received the best experience possible. I was apart of the retail side of business for a good part of my time, but over my last year employed with them, became management for both the retail and eye doctor sides of business.
