I grew up in Vermont but moved to New Jersey as a junior in high school. As a 17 year old, I feel as if I am one of not many who can say they have independently moved miles away from their parents. These changes have made me view the world independently and have matured me in ways I have only learned from. Due to these changes, I have learned great time and self-management skills, since I've had to navigate myself. While moving around a lot has been tough at times it has taught me to care for myself and be happy as an independent individual. During my high school and some of my middle school years I have emphasized great importance in being active, with myself and the community that surrounds me. Which includes; Babysitting and organizing kids' birthday parties, teaching English to children in Israel, Working at a food truck, being a part of a few clubs at my school, being a part of the Leader Corps at Camp Takodah in Richmond, NH, volunteering at a daycare center in Kibbutz Maaleh Hahamish, coaching middle school girls Lacrosse in Wyckoff, NJ, being a part of an amazing high school Lacrosse team, and competing in a non-fiction writing contest for the New York Times Newspaper. Overall, I believe I have an interesting story which has shaped me to be an interesting person.
