Nicholas Castro

As an active-duty infantryman serving in the 1-14 Cav 7th Infantry, my main job was to serve and protect the people and constitution of the United States of America.

By doing that, I specialized in direct combat operations, security, and reconnaissance under any conditions. First one there, last one out.

Deployed to Korea for combined training and security details all over the country.

I mentored and led soldiers below me, developing unit cohesion, and upheld the stability and integrity of my leadership by ensuring disciplined execution of companies duties.

Also maintained many light to heavy vehicles for the 7th Infantry in Washington. Becoming a driver for a Stryker in my company. Giving me the responsibility to maintain and operate a 19-ton vehicle.

Upon honorable discharge from active duty, I transitioned seamlessly into the Army National Guard (102nd ID, CT), demonstrating an unwavering commitment to national service. This move immediately followed my active service end date, ensuring no lapse in maintaining core competencies. While managing concurrent civilian and military demands, I consistently sustain expert-level proficiency in Active Duty core competencies, including advanced weapons qualification, vehicle and gear maintenance, combat readiness, and complex land navigation during all required training cycles.

Going to Greece for a combined exercise with multiple NATO countries

This duality highlights superior dedication, time management, and discipline.

Seeking opportunities within various trades, I gained valuable experience working locally for Longo Carpet Cleaning, a family-run business in Agawam.

I developed proficiency in specialized stain removal techniques for area rugs and furniture. My responsibilities also included providing residential and commercial duct cleaning services throughout New England, as well as conducting commercial kitchen hood cleaning for various restaurants.
