Work History

Deputy Sheriff-Law Enforcement Officer

Augusta County Sheriff's Office
05.2016 - 12.2023

During my 7.5 year tenure (started 2016) as a Deputy Sheriff in Augusta County, Virginia, I served the vast majority on a Patrol Shift, handling all types of Emergency/Non-Emergency/Calls for service/Law Enforcement related functions.

I gained a massive amount of interpersonal communication skills with citizens from all walks of life. I learned to adapt to stressful environments/situations/conversations in a calm, tactful, and professional manner.

My last year (2023) as a law enforcement officer, I served in the School Resource Division, as a Resource Officer in one of Augusta County's public school districts.

There, I learned another side of being a LEO. Dealing with a diverse populous of children, teachers, parents, among a vast array of situations of a much more personal and one-on-one, sensitive nature. I developed a strong community role model position, and expanded my communication skills beyond what I learned working as a Patrol Deputy.

For 5 years of my time at the Sheriff's Office, I also served as an operator on our SWAT/Tactical Team. Here, I gained even greater swift decision making skills, ability to work in a team capacity, and operating under dynamic, ever-evolving high stress situations requiring me to be calm and collected, no matter the pressure or scenario faced. We were on call 24/7 for high-risk calls/dynamic situations where patrol deputies were at too much risk on their own.

Throughout the duration of my career in Law Enforcement, I was taught, and able to gather/study/adapt to all types of investigative methods and became proficient at writing and articulating my findings in a police report. I gathered proficiency on describing events exactly as they happened, in a clear, concise, articulate manner.
