I started working directly on the Units at the Augusta Mental Health Institute in Augusta, until it's closure. When Riverview Psychiatric Center opened in July 2004 (replacing the former Augusta Mental Health Institute), I worked directly on the Units for a couple of months. Before having the opportunity to advance to become a Mental Health Worker III/ Vocational Coordinator.

Supervising clients in job/ skills development. Collecting and organizing information in order to appraise interests, aptitude and abilities for vocational planning. Interviewing client/ records in order to evaluate response to work experiences and assess qualifications. Visits and community employers in order to promote available placement/ job referrals for clients. Participate in bi-weekly team meetings, implement and monitor individual care plans and complete all appropriate documentation. Transport client into the community for employment/ vocational purposes.
