Volunteer Work

Special Sessions-counselor (2021-present)

  • During my summers, I volunteer at Special Sessions, a summer camp for adults with mental and physical disabilities. During my week I am in charge of campers day and night making sure that their needs are taken care of and are staying safe. I also focus on making sure not only my campers but all of the campers throughout the week feel accepted and affirmed. I assist my campers as they participate in regular camp activities like swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, and many more. Most importantly I make sure to show support, love and kindness to the campers and my fellow counselors.

Exceptional Foundation of East Alabama-volunteer (2022-present)

  • During the school year, I volunteer at The Exceptional Foundation of East Alabama. This foundation is an organization established to serve adults with mental and physical disabilities by providing them the opportunity to thrive in a supportive community. At this foundation I volunteer by helping setup recreational activities for the members to engage in. More importantly, I spend my time at EFEA providing emotional and social support to the members by making sure they're safe and accepted.

Sunny Kids Club-volunteer (2023-present)

  • During the school year, I volunteer at the Sunny Kids Club of Auburn, Alabama. This organization provides care for young children with mental and physical disabilities while their families are at work. During my time at the Sunny Kids Club I focus on setting up activities for the children to participate in throughout the day. I also make sure every child feels emotionally and physically supported, during their time at the club.
