Olivia Leary

Summary

I have been providing in-home child care for over 5 years in Southern Maine. I have learned so many skills by simply caring for another person. I have an exceptional attention to detail, that has been strengthened by my identity as an artist. I am flexible in stressful situations, and provide a safe place for children to make mistakes. After working with several young kiddos with ADHD, I have helped many with sensory issues regarding clothing and sensations, how to transition calmly to new tasks, and how to read their body and what it is telling them. I have worked many types of jobs, and working with neurodivergent children has been the highlight.

I provide childcare and housekeeping for Nicole full time. I do regular overnights, as the parents travel often for work.

I help with household tasks like laundry and dishes, as well as keep fruits and vegetables prepped for the kids. I give rides to and from activities, as well as dog sit.

Christina Watka

I was responsible for 3-year-old twin girls, part time.

Both parents worked and I provided day coverage along with cleaning to maintain the space for their arrival.

Interests

I am a painter, attending the Maine College of Art for a short amount of time Taken out of school due to health reasons, I still pursued an independent career as a painter I did well, selling commission work of wedding bouquets, but decided I wanted to keep this skill for myself My greatest coping skill is less effective when I'm doing it for money Now I like to share my own love for mixed media art, found materials, and will incorporate it into my future psychological research and clinical work
