Coding Project- Computational Physics (Python), November-December 2024

  • Simulated Cold Gravitational Collapse by developing a three-dimensional particle mesh N-body code to simulate particles that interact only through gravity and follow Newton’s equations of motion.
  • Utilized various plots such as mass and acceleration profiles to analyze and interpret the evolution of the system over time.
  • Used various methods (Numpy, Matplotlib) such as fast fourier transforms, solving poissons equation using computational techniques, random number generators, and solving first and second order differential equations using computational techniques.

Coding Project- Computational Physics (Python), October 2024

  • Used various root finding methods, and created various plots to understand and analyze all 5 lagrange points. (Numpy, Matplotlib)
  • Calculated their distances from the Earth-Sun system and, checked solutions against built in functions to make sure they agreed.
  • Added an independent section that the gravitational potential energy of an object going along the path from the Earth to the first lagrange point, and i analyzed how the potential changes due to influence from both the Earth and the sun.
