Monroe County CASA provides court appointed special advocates (CASAs), to children involved in the legal system due to abuse or neglect. Our volunteers are community members who dedicate their time monthly to work with one or two children or sibling groups. CASA volunteers listen and soak up as much information as possible about the child’s life, which then is given to the judge in the form of a report. The judge then uses that information to make the most informed decisions to achieve the best possible outcome for that child. But, without community volunteers, this vital work isn’t possible. As a board member,  we participate in community engagement events, we engage with our current volunteers with appreciation events  and we are involved in  fundraising events like our GALA each year.   CASA is an amazing organization that is doing some great work for the children in our community.
