•Represent the company at mediation, and in conjunction with our counsel, enter into negotiations for settlement including, but not limited to bodily injury, property damage, and subrogation. We also attend (to negotiate, assist, and/or testify) global settlement conferences, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Maintain current knowledge of insurance law; changes and trends; applicable product/services; court decisions which may impact claim outcomes; current guidelines in the claims function; and policy changes and modifications.
• Conduct inspections of loss sites, identify & investigate suspicious losses, schedule, facilitate, and complete in-person contacts and recorded statements to investigate and settle injury and property damage claims.
• Communicate and collaborate with attorneys, vendors, and experts to source provisions for fair, equitable and expedient claim resolutions
•Investigates, evaluates, negotiates an auto claim inventory of approximately 100 files in an assigned area, including verification of coverage, legal liability and extent of damage to persons and property, which may require contact by telephone, correspondence, in person, or various electronic methods.
•Applies knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, statutes, and insurance regulations when evaluating coverage, liability, damages of injury (first and third party) and property.
•Recognizes and reviews claims requiring specialized handling, including identifying issues that may require the use of independent experts or vendors.
•Works with minimal supervision to recognize, investigate and resolve complex coverage, liability, and damage issues.
•Handles claims with injury diagnoses which may be inconsistent with the vehicle damage or loss characteristics.
