Assist the pharmacist in filling medication orders and help to answer the phone. Able to mix IVs, TPN/PPN, mix PCA/PCEA, and put together antibiotics using the BBraun system. Helped with the transition of the TPN pump from the Baxter macro/micro to the Baxa EM2400 compounder.

I did some compounding of oral liquids for pediatric patients, unit doses of bulk tablets, and liquids. Did unit inspections monthly.

Primary TPN and IV Room Technician. Operate and troubleshoot the Baxa EM2400 compounder and TPN-PC Plus software, which were recently upgraded for the Baxter Micro-Macro compounder. Able to operate the McKesson Robot-RX and Pak-Plus to unit-dose medication. Refill Accudose machines, balance narcotic inventory, handle some patient billing, and refill code cart trays. Filling department orders for floor stock. Compounding of PCA/PCEA and IV antibiotics. Familiar with Abbot Add-Vantage and Baxter Mini Bag Plus systems, and how to assemble them. Support of the pharmacist. Counting pills, pre-packing of bulk medications, and some compounding of suspensions and creams/ointments. Department Safety Officer.

Making IVs for homebound patients and nursing home residents. Primary Tech in charge of Health Options Chronic Medication Program, clearing insurance, and also responsible for shipping medication out and collecting co-pays. Placing drug orders, making and confirming pick tickets, filling pharmacy orders and prescriptions, and entering inventory into the Abbott System.

Making IVs for homebound patients. Placing a drug inventory order. Help start up an institutional pharmacy for nursing home patients. Help with billing for nursing home medications. Started the Health Options Chronic Medication Program. Cleared insurance for the chronic medication program, as well as billing on HCFA 1500 forms. Filling and counting pills for nursing-home patients. Familiar with the bingo card and Opus medication dispensing systems. I also ordered supplies for the institutional pharmacy.

Counting pills, refilling floor stock narcotic boxes, and putting drug orders on shelves. Place the drug inventory order as a fill-in. Answer phones, window, and tube station. Support the pharmacist. Making IVs, compounding suspensions, and creams/ointments. Pre-packing of bulk medication. Filled in the outpatient pharmacy. Safety officer for the department.

Provide customer service, count pills, check in the order, enter new prescriptions, answer phone calls for refills, and call doctors' offices for refills.

Answer phones, schedule appointments, collect payments, receive patients, and do some typing.

Assess and prepare the patient for the physician's exam. Venipuncture, finger stick, basic laboratory, and preparation of blood to be transported to the main lab. Did some coding (CPT/ICD-9).

Provide customer service, checking out goods purchased by customers. Program cash registers for weekly sales.

6-week program introduction to healthcare through the County of Kauai. Worked in the hospital pharmacy, counting. pills and inventory.
