  • Patient Safety Attendant is to observe patient behavior, communicate with and de-escalate patients, and notify nursing personnel if the patient's condition changes or requires assistance
  • Patient safety attendant role also serves as a resource to assist the Patient Care Tech/Multi Skill Tech and or Nursing staff with basic functions for the designated patient
  • Patient Safety Attendant is also responsible for accurately documenting the patient behavior for the patient's legal medical records throughout their shift
  • In the Monitor Room, Monitor Tech is required to visually observe up to 19 patients via video camera, for the following concerns.
  • Fall risk, Medical Line Pull Risk, Elopement Risk, Drug Use Risk, and any unusual Suspicious Activity to ensure patient safety
  • Monitor Tech was responsible for speaking to patients via intercom to de-escalate situations, while simultaneously contacting the nursing staff on the patient floor and informing them the patient was in danger or was in need of assistance

  • Tech performs Urine Drug Screens/Client Vitals and reports results to nurses on duty, this is done during initial intake and whenever needed throughout the client's stay

  • Tech arranges transportation and safely transport clients to and from Hospitals, or off campus appointments in company cars
  • Tech was responsible for facilitating wrap in and wrap out groups on the addiction unit as well as some AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) and NA (Narcotic Anonymous) groups on a daily basis

Lead On Call Sexual Assault Victim Advocate

  • Supervises the On Call Hospital Response Calendar for Sarasota and Desoto County, as well as all on call volunteers
