Work History

Patient Navigator/Credentialing Contractor

Assist Health Group (Radiology/Colonoscopy Assist)
Farmers Branch, Texas
09.2015 - 07.2021
  • Created charts for new patients for various types of exams and assisted existing patients with their charts. Scheduled patients via phone with scheduling coordinators at imaging centers who participated in the Radiology Assist program nationwide. Gained medical knowledge in the radiology field to assure that patients were getting the correct studies performed based on the diagnosis that the physician ordered for each exam, and to prevent billing errors from occurring. Communicated with physician’s offices when the study requested did not match the diagnosis and would correct the error to ensure that the patient was getting the correct study that they needed to have completed.. Assisted patients throughout the payment process. Reached out to outpatient imaging centers nationwide that did not participate in our program and initiated contact with a marketing director to inform them about our program. I would help our billing specialist in the billing department to assist her with reaching out to any entity we had a contract with to correct billing issues.
  • Made outbound calls to numerous Radiology centers across the nation to connect with the correct contact in order to get the Radiology Center to participate in the Radiology Assist Program. I made numerous national outbound calls daily to various entities for Colonoscopy Assist which included contacting the physician, the surgery center, the anesthesiologist, and the pathology lab that either our company was already contracted with, or for whom the surgery center was contacted with. I would inform each entity who Assist Health Group is, what our mission is, and would set up conference calls which included myself, my boss, and the other party to hopefully get the various contracts signed. I would ensure to maintain contact with entities who had pending contracts in order to try to have them participate with the Assist Health Group Program as soon as possible. Once contracts were completed and signed on both parties ends, I would obtain several documents to credential radiologists, nurses, anesthesiologists, gastroenterologist, etc. I would credential the business and obtain documents to credential each specialist and/or surgery center/radiology center.

Trained Employees Successfully

I trained two fellow new employees at both of my most recent job positions. I always remained patient, understanding, and tried to focus on training them in an orderly fashion. It is very important to me to train a new employee in the way that their brain specifically can comprehend, understand, and retain information about the job position so they can excel at their job position. The best way to learn is by doing it yourself after shadowing, but always let the employee know to never be afraid to put the customer on hold if they have a question. It is always important to ask questions rather than give a customer/client an incorrect answer.
