  • Principal engineer on a small team designing and implementing a GPU based scene generator for Electro-Optical, Infrared, and Millimeter Wave sensor simulation and scene generation in support of various U. S. Army tactical smart weapon systems. This scene generator is currently being integrated into various AMCOM RDEC S&T simulation systems.
  • Responsible for assessing customer modeling and simulation needs, developing plans and strategies for accommodating these needs, and developing cost proposals including labor and material cost requirements to complete task efforts.
  • Responsible for developing software system requirements given these needs and formulation of plans to meet such requirements in an AGILE framework in the form of task backlogs. Development of software development cycle sprint plans and release plans from such backlogs and the subsequent execution of such plans for product development. All product development accomplished with the use of a continuous integration server that includes configuration management, software system builds, comprehensive unit testing, test coverage metrics, memory checks, and source code analysis.
  • Designed and developed a data fusion testbed for the AH-64E Apache helicopter that fuses FLIR, RF, and Visual data into a real-time 3D visualization. Studied the AH-64E pilot and co-pilot gunner cockpit displays and procedures to add new data and information to enhance Degraded Visual Environment (DVE) navigation and targeting

  • Designed and developed large scale software systems for military systems analysis and visualization in support of U. S. Army weapon systems including Tube-launched Optically tracked Wire-guided missile (TOW), Compact Kinetic Energy Missile (CKEM), Extended Area Protection and Survivability (EAPS) inner and outer tiers, and the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Trajectory Correction Kit (TCK)
  • These systems were utilized to analyze and characterize performance of missile tracking and guidance algorithms by reconstructing trajectories from captive flight and test programs. Test playback capabilities included animation and display of missile components and functions in full 3D with instrumentation overlays
  • Lead for TOW II weapon systems performance analysis in the TOW Real-Time Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) laboratory.

MagnaSIM is a DITSCAP certified set of 16 C++ software toolkits that simplify development of engineering simulation, analysis, and visualization products. Toolkits include mathematics, statistics, GIS, audio, imaging, compression/decompression, environmental effects, digital signal processing, network and distributed processing, radar transmission/reception/scattering, terrain optimization and display, 3D modeling, OpenGL rendering algorithms and special effects, and a real-time visualization engine which integrates all of these components.
  • MagnaSIM’s distributed processing packages were utilized in the design and fielding of a communications architecture for coupling MagnaCom’s AEGIS radar model with the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) simulation in support of the 2004 GMD TEX Testbed.
  • The MagnaSIM visualization engine and related packages were utilized to build a full 3D test playback capability for the TMD (Theater Missile Defense) Countermeasure Mitigation Program (TCMP) and the U.S. Army CKEM missile system.
  • Lead the development of a real-time network-based data distribution system for the U.S. Army Software Engineering Directorate (SED) that leveraged a shared memory interface to an ADA based C3I data acquisition system (CEES) to intercept and re-route selected messages over TCP and UDP networks.
  • Led the design and development of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Line-Of-Sight Analysis Tool (LOSAT); a virtual terrain analysis tool for evaluating armored tank training ranges throughout the United States for their suitability in fulfilling sets of training requirements.

  • Lead the development of a high-fidelity computer simulation of the MLRS/TGSM MMW radar sensor/seeker subsystem. Simulation included models of the TGSM antenna, receiver, transmitter, D/A converters, frequency agile source, range tracker, and other critical seeker hardware. Applied this model to the analysis of tracking error signals and tracking algorithm performance effects induced by the sensor characteristics, hardware component anomalies, and signal processing algorithms.
  • Analyzed MICOM/ASC developed principal scatterer models and utilized these models in the evaluation of MLRS/TGSM terminal tracking algorithms.
  • Lead the design and development of multi-platform, multi-network, computer processing system for evaluation of MMW, and EO/IR field test data and algorithms. Tasks included the identification and procurement of computer hardware and software as well as the integration of all system components and development of analytical computer codes.
  • Performed research on the application of various artificial intelligence techniques to smart weapons discrimination processes.
  • Designed, developed, and tested a machine learning system based on neural networks for identifying various tactical targets within RF/MMW scenes.
