Sandy Hook is a mixture of natural, cultural and recreational resources serving a vast audience in the New York Metropolitan area, it includes seven miles of Atlantic Ocean coastlines including recreational bathing beaches, nesting habitat, and fishing access
Other resources include a maritime holly forest, a 1764 National Historic Landmark Lighthouse, and a NHL Landmark District dedicated to Coastal Defenses from Colonial to Cold War eras
The unit manager position was created in 2009 and manages local issues and daily operations at the Sandy Hook Unit.

The combined visitation of these sites is over 5 million annually
While on detail, I oversaw the daily operation of the park through three supervisors, the Facility Manager, Administrative Officer and the Chief Of Cultural Resources and Interpretive Operations.
