Bear Country USA
Rapid City, South Dakota
05.2023 - Current
  • I started working at Bear Country my sophomore summer of high school, firstly working in the snack shack which taught me a lot about food safety standards, cash/card handling and customer interaction and service. I worked 4, 10-hour shifts over the majority of the summer and learned how to stay consistent and keep working even over the longer days.
  • My junior year of high school I had broken my leg in the fall and was barely able to walk, regardless and graciously bear country let me run a register for them while I used my walker for a few weeks until I eventually gained my strength back. Working while injured taught me how to work hard since even the most basic tasks were difficult. I still went in every day and worked until I physically couldn't do more.
  • Returned to Bear Country after graduation, responding to staffing needs on short notice and working approximately 15 days over the summer.

Demonstrated reliability by consistently being available to support Bear Country whenever needed.

  • Greeted customers warmly, answered questions, and offered assistance to enhance overall visitor experience.
  • Supported team members in completing daily tasks.
  • Maintained cleanliness of work areas after each shift and equipment at the end of each shift.
