  • Boarding Assistance for Visually Impaired Community, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, 10/2016-12/2016, Designed and Implemented an Assistive System for the Visually Impaired community with seamless haptic feedback and along with development of an application that will help them navigate and board a train/bus safely.
  • Channel Estimation Techniques for MIMO in mm Wave (60 GHz) communication systems, 4/2016-6/2016, Study and simulation of the compressive estimation algorithm for single and multi-paths in mmWave channel considering a 32 × 32 transmit array and a receiver array of size 4x4.
  • FIR Adaptive Filter Design for Inter Carrier Interference Mitigation in 802.11 WLAN communication systems, 5/2016-6/2016, Study and simulation of FIR adaptive filter for reducing the ICI phenomenon in the OFDM based 802.11 systems.
  • E2E PHY Layer Design of IEEE 802.11n, 1/2016-3/2016, End to End simulation of IEEE 802.11 PHY Layer - mixed mode, spatial multiplexing and various modulation techniques evaluated.

  • Simulation and analysis of Random Access Schemes. Routing Protocols and MAC schedulers used in modern wireless systems, Simulated and analyzed various Random Access mechanisms like Slotted Aloha, CSMA/CA used in the cellular and wireless systems. Simulated and studied routing protocols in the VANET networks and the MAC schedulers used in the modern cellular systems like LTE.
  • Modelling and Simulation of MIMO-OFDM Wireless Communications with MATLAB, Simulated wireless channel modelling techniques, including large-scale fading, small-scale fading, indoor and outdoor channel modelling, SISO channel modelling, and MIMO channel modelling. Also carried out the simulation of OFDM transmission techniques and MIMO techniques.
  • Mathematical Modelling, Simulation and Prototyping of LTE PHY using MATLAB, Modelled the various components and integrated PHY layer of the LTE standard with focus on link adaptation and system level simulation.

Undergradua Level Academic Projects

  • Multi objective Optimization in Cognitive Radios using Genetic algorithms and Particle Swarm Optimization, 8/2014-12/2014, Simulated and analyzed the standard model for applying GA and PSO separately in Cognitive radios to solve multi objective problems. Proposed a new algorithm which is a mix of PSO and GA to be used in Cognitive radio to optimize radio performance under different communication scenarios.
  • Application of Machine Learning Techniques in Cognitive Radio for efficient spectrum allocation, 1/2014-05/2014, Exposed to the field of cognitive radio and its application, with emphasis on neural networks and their applications in Cognitive radio. Performed simulations using data from Microsoft Spectrum Observatory and also generated data to train the Cognitive Radio.
  • Data Acquisition using Wireless Sensor Networks, 8/2013-12/2013, Built a temperature monitoring and control system for multiple rooms using wireless sensor networks connected by ZigBee transceivers and 8051 microcontrollers.

Research

  • Graduate Student Researcher, UCLA CORES (Cognitive Reconfigurable Embedded Systems Lab), Los Angeles, CA, 06/2016-03/2017, Assisted in lab research for NSF funded projects (WiFiUS) involving use of Fine Localisation estimates across the protocol stack to enhance the energy efficiency of communication, control the IoT interference, guarantee end-to-end QoS, and improve the space-time resource allocation for massive IoT applications. Currently independently investigating the potential of mobile smartphones to expand the supported number of devices in IoT networks.
  • Enhancing Cognitive Radio LTE Femtocell and WRAN 802.22 Performance using Radio Environment Maps, BITS-Pilani Hyderabad Campus & TU Berlin, Hyderabad, India, 01/2015-05/2015, The task was to apply the concept of radio enabled maps in enhancing the performance of Cognitive Radio enabled LTE Femtocells and WRAN 802.22 networks. The thesis progresses with understanding of the REM, constructing the required data model, thoroughly understanding the underlying principles for its construction and finally applying it in LTE Femtocells and WRAN networks.
