After working for 4 years as a medical records specialist at a doctors office in Fortuna, CA, I decided to become a stay at home mom. Over the past 18 years I've developed a confidence in several invaluable skills such as dependability, problem solving, adaptability, and responsibility. Throughout my children's educational experience, I've always found myself volunteering in their schools. Being involved in their classroom or school environment has always been a high value and a joy of mine. Being a driven learner by nature, I quickly developed skills in classroom management, organization, and flexibility. Now that I'm seeking to return to the workplace, I'm eager to use these skills to serve our teachers and administrators within the public school system.
In my spare time, I love to get outside and run on trails or in the mountains. I've been running on trails since around 2015 and started running ultramarathons at the end of 2016. Trail running has provided me with an outlet for adventure, self discovery, risk and exploration. Throughout the years I've run in some amazing races in incredible places. I've participated in some of the hardest ultra-trail races on the East Coast, as well as a few 100 mile trail races. These races have taken me to the edge of what I thought possible and left me humbled and overwhelmingly grateful. This hobby has helped me develop skills not only in endurance, but in patience, strength, kindness, awareness, and compassion for those around me.
