  • Company Overview: A science blog using WordPress and Bluehost architecture, monetized with Google AdSense. Implemented research, writing, art, SEO optimization, and marketing.
  • The blog is intended to teach college-level concepts, mainly biological and chemical sciences, in a charming, funny, and entertaining format that is easily understandable to nonprofessionals and academics alike.

Research Projects

Elmhurst University
01.2021 - 12.2021
  • 2023: A Phylogeny of Life Histories in Fissiparous and Sexual Planarians and the Adaptive Benefits of Neoblast Diversity In order to gain experience using NCBI as a research tool, we assembled a phylogenetic tree of sexual, fissiparous, and ex-fissiparous planaria of the dugesiidae family (n35).
  • 2023: Effect of Light Exposure on Predation of Daphnia magna by Aeolosoma — Studied the effects of unnatural light exposures (total darkness, constant light, natural light as control), on the ability of a model predator (aeolosoma worms) against a model prey (Daphnia water fleas).
  • 2021: Respiratory Effects of Temperature when Dehydrated in the Pillbug Armadillidium vulgare — Determined how temperature and dehydration affect the metabolism of pillbugs by measuring their respiratory rate.
  • 2020: Effects of Directionalities of Light on Reproductive Rate in Differing Diatom Frustule Shapes — In an honors-level Keystone Research Experience at Elmhurst University, I researched, designed, and performed an experiment involving diatoms. As the major lead in experimental design, I formulated our team’s hypothesis.

Bio-Builders Club

Glenbard East High School
09.2015 - 05.2019
  • March, 2017: The Production of Human Leptin Using Cell Free Protein Synthesis — We gave a presentation about this project at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our team used cell free lysate, a new technique in biology to hijack a bacteria's systems to make chemicals without worrying about cell death or rejection, to produce the hunger suppressing hormone leptin.
  • We were the first group in the world to use free cell lysate at a high school level, and I was the youngest member at the time, which means I was the youngest in the world to use this technique.
  • We were published in the scientific journal BioTreks; biotreks.org/e201711/ and this paper has been cited many times. Academia.edu says I’ve been mentioned in papers 79 times.
  • February, 2019: Production of VK-25 — This project was also presented at Harvard. My teacher told the other club members that, in the case of hecklers or forgetfulness, they should resort to me.
